Why Do Shipping Costs Differ Between the Amazon Warehouse and the StepperOnline US Warehouse?

StepperOnline currently operates two shipping locations in the United States:

  • StepperOnline US Warehouse: Orders are packed by our staff and handed off to our logistics partner for delivery.
  • Amazon US Warehouse: Orders are packed and shipped by Amazon through their logistics network.

Why Prices Differ

The price difference comes down to what is included in the listed price:

  • StepperOnline Website: Product prices do not include shipping. Shipping fees are calculated separately at checkout based on your order size and destination. These fees cover delivery from our US warehouse to your address. Import duties are not included and may be charged separately upon delivery.
  • Amazon: Product prices already include the cost of shipping from China to the Amazon warehouse (inbound freight), applicable import duties, and Amazon's last-mile delivery to your address.

Because of this, the Amazon listing may appear more expensive at first glance. However, the total cost depends on your order quantity.

Which Option Costs Less?

The most cost-effective choice depends on how many items you order:

Example: If you order a single motor, the Amazon total cost (product price + included inbound freight and duties) is usually lower than the StepperOnline website total (product price + separate shipping fee). However, if you order 2 or more items, the StepperOnline website total typically becomes cheaper because shipping costs are combined into a single shipment.

Summary

  • For small orders (1 item), Amazon often offers a lower total cost.
  • For larger orders (2+ items), ordering directly from the StepperOnline US Warehouse is usually more economical.

Always compare the final checkout total on both platforms before placing your order.
