The A6-PN series supports PROFINET communication and is compatible with Siemens S7-1200 and S7-1500 series PLCs.
In Siemens TIA Portal, a Technology Object (TO) is a software-based configuration element used to set up, program, and diagnose motion control axes. The TO version (e.g., V3.1 or V4.0) depends on the PLC model and firmware version in use.
The A6-PN series supports both TO V3.1 and TO V4.0. The following guidelines apply:
- New projects: We recommend using TO V4.0, which offers improved stability, enhanced motion control features, and better diagnostic capabilities.
- Existing projects (retrofit or replacement): TO V3.1 can be used when replacing a servo motor in an existing project that was originally configured with V3.1. Please note that V3.1 is a legacy version; STEPPERONLINE has not performed formal compatibility testing on V3.1, and we cannot guarantee full compatibility or assume responsibility for issues arising from its use.
For the best experience, we recommend using the latest supported TO version available for your PLC platform.
