Installation Precautions:

  1. The gearbox must be installed on a flat, solid base. The mounting bolts must be securely tightened and shock-resistant.

  2. The shaft extensions of the prime mover, gearbox, and driven machine must be accurately aligned after assembly.

  3. The outer diameter tolerance of the shaft extensions at the input and output ends of the gearbox is manufactured to h6. The bore diameters of mating couplings, pulleys, sprockets, and other transmission components must be machined to the appropriate tolerance to avoid excessively tight assembly (which can damage bearings) or excessively loose assembly (which can impair power transmission).

  4. When installing sprockets, gears, and other transmission components on the shaft extension, position them as close to the bearing as possible to reduce bending stress on the shaft.

  5. When assembling the motor with the gearbox, apply grease to the bore wall and keyway of the worm shaft to prevent excessively tight assembly and to protect the shaft bore from rusting over time.

  6. When using motor direct-coupled gearboxes, if the motor is excessively heavy, a support bracket should be installed.

Precautions for Use:

  1. Before use, verify that the gearbox structure, center distance, transmission ratio, input shaft connection method, output shaft structure, output shaft orientation, and direction of rotation meet the application requirements. The input speed of the worm shaft should not exceed 1500 rpm.

  2. During startup, apply the load gradually. Do not start the gearbox under full load.

  3. The NEMA25–90 gearbox is equipped with an oil fill port and an oil drain port. ISO VG 320 lubricating oil has been pre-filled at the factory; no additional oil is required. The lubricating oil should be replaced after the first 500 hours of continuous operation. Subsequent oil change intervals are 6,000 hours.

  4. The NEMA110–150 gearbox is equipped with an oil fill port, an oil drain port, and an oil level sight glass. Mineral lubricating oil ISO VG 460 has been pre-filled at the factory. Before use, the user must remove the rubber seal from the breather plug.

  5. Replace the oil after the first 400 hours of operation, and change the oil approximately every 4,000 hours thereafter.

  6. The maximum allowable oil temperature of the gearbox is 85 °C. If this temperature is exceeded, stop operation immediately and inspect the gearbox.

  7. If the gearbox has been stored for more than 4–6 months before use and the oil seal has not been immersed in lubricating oil, it is recommended to replace the oil seal.

  8. If the ambient temperature exceeds the specified range or is more than 5 °C below the ambient temperature listed in the table, please contact our technical support team to confirm whether the gearbox can operate normally.
